This is downsized from the last time we got a Lego set of the craft and it has no wing deploy mechanism but it is a batter size in my opinion and visually much improved. The new accurate pilot helmet mould for the clone is excellent and long overdue. Including Ventress and Kenobi is a bit of an odd choice and bumps the price a bit but my only real complaint is when landed the rear fin folds very oddly and just looks wrong. Otherwise a great set that is very sturdy once built but is a little hard to grip at times in the build process.

I was pleasantly surprised to see this ship remade in Lego form and it makes a refreshing alternative to the usual repeated star-fighter sets. The only time the V-19 had been released as a Lego set before was back in early waves of clone wars sets, so the design was more than due an update. That original set was significantly larger, but somewhat oversized compared to the onscreen ship which is a mainstay of the early seasons of the clone wars animated series. This version is a better size for play and whilst it sacrifices the clever automatic wing folding mechanics of the older build, it packs in way more detail along with a manual wing fold that is still satisfying enough. The only thing the build lacks is some sort of stand so it can be displayed easily in flight mode.The three included minifigures are all awesome, with Clone Wars armoured Obi-Wan the pick of the bunch. The new version of Assajj Ventress is also welcome and finally the phase one clone pilot is done justice with a new and accurately moulded helmet!! See Lego, it wasn’t that hard and maybe now you can see the difference between this guy and the commander!!Whilst price has been a somewhat controversial topic for Lego Star Wars particularly in the recent summer 2025 wave of sets, this one is one of the better value recent sets in my opinion, largely down to the excellent selection of figures, two of which were highly anticipated / requested by Lego Star Wars fans. As usual, you get an age appropriate building experience with clear instructions and the overall quality is great.
